Last week we were fortunate enough to have a great production crew help us film our new Hitch Hotel Video. This new content was made primarily to help our consumer get a better understanding of the functionality and versatility of the Hitch Hotel. We will also be make a version for our SEMA show. Below is a little taste of some stop motion we did during that shoot.

We have been working tirelessly in preparation for our debut at SEMA in November. Along with having two units at the show we will be making public some of the newest features that come standard with all Hitch Hotels.

Some of the new items include a storage compartment, onboard power, additional vents for exterior AC/Heating units and hand stitched insulated canvas interior.

We are constantly trying to improve the functionality and comfort of our Hitch Hotels and we are glad you are all along for the ride.

International Search Report (“ISR”) and Written Opinion of the International Searching Authority (“ISA”) that issued for the above-referenced PCT application

On February 24, 2021 we filed for a worldwide patent for our Traveler “Wheeled” version of the Hitch Hotel. After examining the application, it is the opinion of the International Searching Authority that we have multiple claims that are patentable within our design.

We are happy to report that we’re now in the process of moving into the next phase of the worldwide patent process.  This will be a huge asset to our company as we begin to create distribution around the globe.

We are beyond excited that the first Production Ready Frames have arrived in the U.S. . It has been difficult to source raw materials during the pandemic but we are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The Hitch Hotel frames are spectacular and better than we expected. Over the next few weeks we will comb through making all adjustments to these models and then begin ordering and taking pre-orders for upcoming units. HITCH HOTEL BRINGS FIBERGLASS MANUFACTURING BACK TO U.S.A

We’re excited to announce that beginning April 15^th Hitch Hotel Inc. will be manufacturing our fiberglass shells and our entry doors in the USA.  We began looking at the possibility of making this move at the end of 2020 as we started to see the time delays that Covid has put on international manufacturing and shipping.  There were 3 major factors that allowed us to bring production of these parts home to the USA.

Covid:

Not being able to travel to Foshan has limited us in our ability to oversee manufacturing and quality control.  With no end to the travel ban anywhere in the near future, we’ve been forced to communicate via computer models, zoom meetings, and many phone calls.   While slow, this has been working, but our factory needs our hands on input with our fiberglass knowledge.  They do not build molds or fiberglass parts at the facility, so they need to outsource that manufacturing.  Outsourcing something that large, complex, and expensive needs eyes and hands on attention to get it right the first time.  

Manufacturing / Shipping Delays:

While the world is still adjusting to the new normal of Covid, we’re patiently waiting for our first production samples to be air freighted to us.  Throughout the building process in Foshan, we’ve run into many time delays because of the pandemic.  It seems that getting raw resources has become very difficult there as well.  What we believed would be about a 4 month process that began in September of 2020, has stretched into almost double that.  Additionally, we’re hearing stories of long delays in both ports of shipping. By moving our large component production back to the US, we’re hoping to not only speed up our manufacturing abilities, but also decrease our “large component” shipping cost. 

USA Partners:

We’ve been working with our fiberglass manufacturer since 2014 and our door manufacturer since 2018.  When it was clear that manufacturing and shipping delays could possibly slow our progress down, we contacted them both to see what we could do. Not only did they offer to help, they started the day we asked for their help.  Within 3 weeks of that communication, our shell molds were completely ready to build parts.  Fiber Composites in Hemet Ca. will begin building shells this week. Our door manufacturer has also told us that  they can begin building whenever we need. We currently have some entry doors in house, so we’ll place our first large order soon. 

Eyes / Hands On:

By having our large components manufactured in the USA, we’ll be able to do all final assembly  at our facility in Valencia Ca.  This will allow us to not only dial in our assembly process, but it will also enable us to have eyes / hands on  final quality control.  We’re hopeful that we’re able to begin this next exciting step within the next 2 weeks.  We’re being told that our samples will be ready to air freight early next week.

Worldwide Utility Patent Application Filed

In February 2020, we started the process of applying for our 5^th Utility Patent.  This patent is to protect our wheeled version of the Hitch Hotel IP.  Additionally, we applied for, and were granted, an application to have worldwide protection on this patent. 

On February 24, 2021, the formal application was accepted by the US Patent Office.  It will take another year or so before we are examined by a patent officer. However, assuming our patent is granted, our protection for the Traveler began on February 24, 2020, about 2 weeks before we introduced it to the world.

It’s yet another milestone as we continue to protect our IP while we build our brand on a worldwide scale.

Hitch Hotel Inc. is proud to announce an exclusive distribution agreement with Core Technology Ltd, located in One Tree Point, New Zealand. 

As we begin to grow our distribution network around the world, New Zealand has always been at the top of our priority list. From our manufacturing and distribution hub in Foshan China, we can easily ship to both New Zealand and Australia. With a population of over 5M and an ever increasing desire to explore their country, New Zealanders are filling campgrounds year round. The CEO of Core Technology, Grant Nelson believes that the compact and light weight design of the Hitch Hotel will now allow people with sub-compact cars to begin enjoying the outdoor lifestyle.  As Grant stated, “Camper vans are everywhere in New Zealand, but they’re expensive and require a lot to own and maintain. The Hitch Hotel will create a market that doesn’t exist yet. We’re very excited to be a part of this movement.”

Geoff Patterson, Co-Founder and CEO said, “I’ve traveled to New Zealand multiple times. It’s a stunningly beautiful country with many places to visit. However, like most countries around the globe, there are no large cars or trucks, so having large RV’s is not really an option. Adapt and Overcome:

Hitch Hotel Inc. is very happy to announce that assembly line manufacturing of our product line is beginning Monday, March 8^that our factory in Foshan.  Getting to this point has been no easy task given the worldwide state of things surrounding Covid.  After receiving the final prototype in early January, our team of engineers and representatives worked overtime to get us here.

With no ability to travel to Foshan to be a part of the final design process, we quickly adjusted to be able to communicate with our team daily. Through dropped calls, and intermittent lost sound and video, we were able to get it done.  Early this morning we were informed by our partner Raymond Wu, CEO of Kindle, that we can expect delivery of our first production units within 5 weeks.  

Spring Timeline Looks Promising:

We anxiously await their arrival so we can rapidly quality control the first units for final approval.  At that point we’ll be able to place our first order of consumer ready Hitch Hotels. We expect to begin fulfilling all pre-orders in late spring.

Hitch Hotel Inc. is very proud to announce that the US Patent Office has granted us another Utility Patent to protect our IP.  Patent #10,889,230 was granted on January 12, 2021.

We have been applying for and receiving patent approvals since May 2014.  The patent process is an expensive, complicated, and time consuming endeavor, but we've always believed that our design was worthy of protection.

Hitch Hotel Inc. is proud to introduce Kindle Plate Manufacturing (“Kindle”) as our exclusive worldwide manufacturer and distribution facility. We have signed a Letter Of Intent with Kindle with the aim of having a formal contract signed before December 31, 2020.  After working with Kindle for the last 4 years to prototype and perfect the Hitch Hotel line of products, the natural progression was to join forces to quickly bring, what we believe to be, the most innovative outdoor adventuring product introduced to the world in decades. 

Over the next couple of  months Hitch Hotel  will work closely with Kindle to finalize the contract, as well as complete the final designs and methods of manufacturing, along with delivery and distribution schedules. With a facility of over 400,000 sq.ft., and the most up to date manufacturing equipment, the Hitch Hotel line of products will be ready to be introduced worldwide in early spring of 2021. Hi Everyone,

In an effort to continually build on our Intellectual Properties,  we are always adding additional patents to our Utility and Design Patent portfolios.   We currently hold 3 US Utility Patents with 1 pending. We also have a worldwide patent application that protects the design of the Traveler is under review.  We expect both to be approved within 18 months.

Attached is what is called a "Continuous Patent" amendment. The USPTO allows to continually add additional IP's to an existing patent: This can only happen if there is never a break in timeline deadlines for the  continuance. If a deadline is missed, the patent can never be added to in the future.  We have never missed a deadline.
